m2t
technologies Exhibits at WEFTEC 2004
Marketing, technical, and commercial “firsts”
have been the norm since the founding of Mixing & Mass
Transfer Technologies, Inc. in early 2001. The company’s
inaugural public exhibition occurred in October, 2001, at
WEFTEC 2001 in Atlanta, Georgia. Since then m2t has exhibited
at all subsequent WEFTEC conferences, including the recently
concluded WEFTEC 2004 in New Orleans, LA. Our 30’
x 30’ booth featured an operating version of our HI-FLO
Surface Aerator. A hearty thanks to all of you who stopped
by.
m2t
technologies Buys Lotepro
In early January, 2002, the company completed the acquisition
of Linde AG’s Lotepro Environmental Systems Group.
The Lotepro Environmental Systems Group has been a major
supplier of environmental systems and services to a broad
array of municipal and industrial clients across North and
South America for over 20 years. Lotepro’s most recognized
system is the UNOX System, the preeminent high purity oxygen
wastewater treatment technology in the world.
m2t
technologies Saves Yuba City Money
In project news, m2t Technologies
has converted a single high purity oxygen train of the Yuba
City, CA. Wastewater Treatment Facility to the HI-FLO Surface
Aeration System®. The increased mass transfer characteristics
of the HI-FLO Surface Aeration System® have allowed
Yuba City to operate a single aeration basin rather than
two basins during the warm summer months, thereby reducing
electric power consumption by 33%. For this conversion program
the company worked with Yuba City’s plant personnel
to evaluate the performance and benefits of the HI-FLO system.
A technical paper on this conversion project was presented
at WEFTEC 2003, and is available for viewing/ download in
the “More Information” area of this page.
m2t
Technologies has Upgraded Chattanooga
m2t Technologies and Lotepro
were selected, in early 2002, as the low, responsive bidder
for a major aeration system modification project at the
City of Chattanooga’s Maccasin Bend Wastewater Treatment
Plant. This project involves the supply of a HI-FLO Surface
Aeration System®, including a total of 28 aerators,
ranging in size from 50 to 100 Hp. The project also included
a significant instrumentation upgrade for the existing UNOX
System. The project recently completed in-the-field performance
testing. A technical paper on the aeration efficiencies
of the aerators supplied for this project was presented
at WEFTEC 2003, and is available for viewing/ download in
the “More Information” area of this page.
Westerly, Rhode Island
m2t Technologies has also
supplied a LINPOR® System for the plant upgrade at the
Westerly, Rhode Island wastewater treatment plant. LINPOR®
is a moving bed biofilm reactor system. The LINPOR System
has been operational at Westerly for about a year and is
performing above plant personnel’s expectations. A
video of this project is available by contacting m2t
Technologies.
and Concord, North Carolina
m2t Technologies recently
completed the upgrade of the 58 mgd Concord, NC wastewater
treatment plant. The project included the design and supply
of 8 surface aerators and the conversion of the analog instrumentation
system on the existing cryogenic oxygen generator to digital.
The project was completed in March, 2003.
HI-FLO Aeration goes in at Detroit
and a Forest Products Plant
HI-FLO aeration systems have been installed and are operating
above expectations at both the Detroit Wastewater Treatment
Plant and at a Michigan forest products wastewater plant.
Detroit has one of the largest wastewater plants in the
world, while the forest products plant is an industrial
lagoon-type facility. Detroit’s facility uses high
purity oxygen, the lagoon operates on air.
We’ve Built a State-of-the-Art
Technology Center
In the technology area, m2t
Technologies has finished construction of a research and
development center in State College, PA. This facility includes
a full-scale aeration test tank that is used for customer
demonstrations, ASCE standardized aeration testing of the
HI-FLO Surface Aeration System®, and on-going process
development activities for many of m2t
Technologies wastewater products. Our laboratory facilities
include variously sized, large scale industrial mixing and
reactor vessels. We have state-of-the-art computational
fluid dynamics (CFD) capabilities. In fact, our industrial
laboratory facilities and personnel are already contracted
to outside companies for their ongoing R & D activities.
m2t Technologies is rapidly becoming THE place to conduct
“cutting edge” fluid mixing, mass transfer,
and reactor design research.
And We Continue to Serve Our
Existing Owner Base
Lotepro Services continues to assist existing UNOX/OASES
wastewater plant owners. With more that 50 owners under
contract, we are the only organization that provides highly
qualified technical expertise to owners of high purity oxygen
wastewater treatment facilities.
