The LINPOR system
is an integrated fixed film activated sludge (IFAS) or a
moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) system. It's a hybrid
system that uses a suspended foam media in the aeration
tanks on which a portion of the activated sludge grows to
effectively double or triple the biomass concentration under
aeration. LINPOR can be designed for carbonaceous removal
(LINPOR-C), nitrification (LINPOR-N), or to accomplish both
(LINPOR-CN). All LINPOR systems feature:
High porosity foam
cubes that constitute between 20 and 30 volume percent
of the aeration basin volume
Foam cubes made of durable plastic material that exhibits
less than 1% degradation per year
Foam cubes that are buoyancy neutral, which facilitates
mixing with minimal power
Proprietary foam retention and distribution systems
for installation in virtually any aeration basin
Highly efficient, fine bubble diffused aeration for
mixing and oxygen transfer
The ability to retrofit almost any existing tank geometry
The ability to eliminate, in cases where LINPOR-N is
used, final clarification equipment
The capability to significantly increase the capacity
of existing tanks, or, conversely, improve effluent characteristics
from existing tanks
Cost effective plant upgrade technology for any plant
capacity
LINPOR is proven: over 45 systems in operation since
1984, 17 of which are nitrification or nite/denite facilities,
having a combined capacity of over 100 mgd and the equivalent
of 180 years of operating history.
